Announcement: Small Fandoms Fest accepting Prompts!
The sixth Fest at ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif) smallfandomfest is now open for prompts! We’re pretty excited at the prospect of getting a bunch of new fanfic and fanart in our favorite small fandoms, and we hope that you are, too. But we need your help! We need you to submit loads of prompts to entice others to write or create graphics, and if you know anyone else who loves small fandoms, please pimp us out to them! We’ll be accepting prompts through Nov 21st, after which they’ll be up for grabs. For more information or to submit a prompt, read this post and comment there. And if you’d like to sign up to pimp out your favorite small fandom, read this post and comment there. Thank you! Hi, all! ds_recsredux is back from hiatus! The lovely ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) luzula is providing the guest recs for November and is featuring podfic. So far, she's recommended some not-to-be-missed Wilby Wonderful and Slings & Arrows podfics. The general challenge for November is 'holiday recs' -- please come share your favorite holiday and vacation stories/fanworks, talk to other reccers... and let us know what we can do to make the comm more fun for you! The 27th: A Due South RPG, now open for business!
Ever wanted to walk a mile in Frannie's legs shoes? Ever wanted to have your own DuckTales-- I mean, ahem, adventures of Detectives Huey, Dewey, and Gardino? Ever wanted to see what would happen if your favorite C6D character wandered right into the DS universe? Do all that and more at the_27th_rpg, our new Due South-based multifandom game! We started back in August, but are now up and running in earnest, and smack dab in the middle of our first exciting murder mystery. We call it the Case of the Human Popsicles. new community for all your c6d needs!
Greetings, 'netlings! As you may have heard, there's a new hangout* in town, c6d_universe! C6D Universe is your home for all non- due South Canadian fannish endevours. Got a fanmix dedicated to Passchendaele? Awesome, post it to C6D Universe. Desperate to discuss theories on just how Callum got his hair that greasy for Slap Shot 2? C6D Universe is the place! Have you written a 30,000 word fic about Wonderfalls? That counts, too, and we'd love to see it! So what fandoms do count? Well, pretty much everything, really. From our userinfo: C6D ... is a large group of related fandoms that have some connection to the television show due South. This encompasses fandoms that are "six-degree-ish" of a small set of (mostly) Canadian artists: Paul Gross, David Marciano**, Callum Keith Rennie, Hugh Dillon, Don McKellar, Bruce McDonald and Daniel MacIvor.
For instance, the talented Laurence Lebeouf, who plays Sadie Sweeney on Durham County. Durham County counts as C6D because Hugh Dillon is in it, so anything Laurence Lebeouf has been in counts as a C6D fandom as well.Meaning, you go right ahead and post clips of James Allodi in Glitter, or screencaps of Molly Parker being a hotass in period dress in Deadwood, or meta on why Being Erica should be a really good show but is really not***. If you really aren't sure, feel free to ping one of your mods, akamine_chan, sionnain or waltzforanight. We are happy to help you out with anything you need, if we can. (Sorry, ponies and Leoben copies are not available at this time.) The main thing C6D Universe wants to be is a place where fans can post all their doesn't-quite-fit-anywhere-else fannish output, from Durham County fic (more please!) to picspams of Don McKellar (again, more please!) and everything in between. But we also want to be a place where fans can meet other fans, where people can mingle and generally be awesome with other awesome people. To help with that, in the coming weeks/months we will be introducing challenges, pimp-a-thons and other such interactive goodness to give you the warm 'n fuzzies. Sounds awesome, right? New comm: ds_profiles
We're taking ds_profiles out for a test drive for a couple of weeks to see how it goes. ds_profiles is a comm for cataloging all the fantabulous past and present Due South writers and creators of other Due South fanworks. If it takes off, we hope to accumulate a complete set of profiles and end up with an ever-growing reference of awesome! Posting in ds_profiles is restricted to assigned profilers. There will be one post per day, Monday to Friday, for two weeks, then a week's break. To sign up to profile an author/maker of fanworks, please comment on this post.
